Helping Brian to transform his walking and reduce falls

Six years ago, Brian received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s, although he had been experiencing many symptoms for over a decade. Residing with his supportive wife, she assists him with various needs throughout the day.

Brian’s primary challenges include a shuffling gait, freezing, difficulty turning, increased falls, and a general decline in his ability to walk significant distances.

Having incorporated Reality DTx® into his routine with the help of Nicole Lavin Neurophysiotherapy, Brian has achieved positive outcomes in his walking goals and a notable reduction in falls. Initially starting with a daily 10-minute program on Level 1 for all rehabilitation exercise games, he has gradually advanced to a prescribed daily 23-minute program at Levels 3 and 4 over the course of six weeks.

Brian is committed to daily practice and often surpasses the recommended time, especially in “free play” mode, as he finds enjoyment in the games and physical activity and loves the convenience of being able to pick it up any time of day at-home.

The program has seamlessly integrated into Brian’s daily life, becoming a routine, and both he and his wife have noticed numerous benefits, extending beyond just the physical benefits, Brian is now happier, and his mood is significantly more upbeat.

Remarkably, Brian’s daily falls have decreased significantly from 7+ falls per day to a reduced 2-3 falls per day.
